Album compiled by Felix Mendelssohn
Unkown artist

Mendelssohn began to assemble the so-called ‘Wedding Album’ for his future wife Cécile Jeanrenaud, and continued it after their marriage. It is a treasure trove containing manuscripts by Goethe, Schiller, Klopstock and Lessing among writers; and autograph scores by other composers. They are accompanied by contributions from Cécile’s family, drawings and watercolours by friends, and some pieces by Mendelssohn himself. Shown here are the scores of Mozart’s Allegro in G minor for piano, K. 312, and Beethoven’s Eccosais and Trio in D for military band, 1810.
