Unknown artist

Owned by the Bodleian since 1809, the tapestry, woven in wool and silk, is a fine example of cartography and decorative art dating from the 1590s. One of four midland counties of England commissioned by Ralph Sheldon, this map has lost significant portions of its content to moths.
