Sheldon Tapestry Map of Worcestershir
Unknown artist

Owned by the Bodleian since 1809, the tapestry, woven in wool and silk, is a fine example of cartography and decorative art dating from the 1590s. This section features south-west Worcestershire and eastern Herefordshire, with the Malvern Hills and River Severn running north-south. Worcester can be seen towards the top right and the 1575 Kynaston landslide is described towards the bottom left.
