The Laxton Map
Pierce, Mark

This beautiful estate map shows the village of Laxton in Nottinghamshire with its surrounding field layout which, unusually, survives almost unchanged today. The map is beautifully illustrated with details such as trees and buildings shown pictorially, and illustrations of rural activities such as haymaking. It is hand drawn on parchment.

A plat and description of the whole mannor and lordship of Laxton, England. Mark Pierce, 1635.
